“Promise me you’ll marry again after I’m gone.” It was the last thing he wished to think about now or ever. He’d never looked at another woman, not even during the months Camille had been so ill, with their sex life on hold. He couldn’t imagine lying next to another woman like this. Holding her in his arms. Making love to her.

“We are not having this conversation.” He spoke in a tone that invited no dissent. “You’re my wife. The only one I want. And you’re not going anywhere. That’s all there is to say on the subject.”

“But if—”

He pressed a finger to her lips. “Don’t. This is hard enough as it is.”     From The Replacement Wife by Eileen Goudge, ©2012. Published by Open Road Media.

I’m very lucky to have met some fascinating people on my journey with writing, publishing, and blogging. Sometimes, it just starts with just a mention, or, in this case, a tweet. After a few Twitter conversations, I decided to ask my next guest if she could be interviewed on my website. After reading her story, she has also proven to be an inspiration. One of her short bios reads, “Natural-born talent is basically useless without the persistence to go with it. I was lucky enough to have been blessed with a deep and abiding love of books and writing coupled with an insane stick-to-it-iveness, which can be a double-edged sword.” Persistence is a characteristic that I really admire. Please join me as I welcome author Eileen Goudge.

Like a meteor crashing through the atmosphere. It’s your gravity alone that always brings me here. Though I’m falling even faster than I wanted to. Getting closer…. Closer to you… Lyrics from Closer To You. Written and published by Brett Boyett & Caitlin Alise Parrot ©2012. Vocals by Korie Anne.

I have been out of the music scene for a few years now, after being tossed out — okay, led out — of a record company office in Los Angeles by a security guard secretary, after they denied my begging and pleading to at least listen to my songwriter demo. A lot has taken place since then, but when I decided to include interviews on my blog, I immediately thought of musicians and songwriters. I had met one singer on Twitter after she brought her new song to my attention. To be honest, I was pleasantly surprised that not only she was a brilliant singer, the song was catchy and produced very well. I was even more surprised when I found out later that she was only 14 years old. Influenced by Adele and Christina Perri, this singer is determined to make her own way to the top of the music industry. I’m so happy that she along with her manager agreed to join me on my blog. Please welcome manager Dave Seguss and from Sacramento, California, this is…

If there was a single place on the entire Camino de Santiago that best captured the medieval feel, it was the old pilgrim’s bunkhouse in Roncesvalles. Dark, dank, and mysterious, with a strange hospitaleiro to boot, it is just the right atmosphere for about the late-tenth century. One could almost imagine cries of help emanating from down in the dungeon, along with sounds of belts lashing, charges of heresy, spies, intrigue, escape attempts, waterboarding, deathbed conversions, sacred chants, and even a profound hush… From The Best Way, El Camino De Santiago by Bill Walker (Skywalker).

During the relatively short time since I published my book and began writing this blog, I have met some interesting and fascinating people. One person in particular has not only walked the Camino de Santiago in Europe, he has thru-hiked the Appalachian Trail (AT) and the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) in the United States. If those weren’t amazing accomplishments enough, he has written books that feature each journey. Since my favourite activities include hiking and long-distance walking, he was the first author that I approached to be interviewed. I was very happy he accepted, and now I’m honored that author Bill Walker, Skywalker, has joined me for the first interview on Camino My Way.
